Shamkhani hails Yemen anti-Israel op. as 'very brave', says Tel Aviv's threats 'empty as usual'

A senior political advisor to Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has commended the recent Yemeni operation deep inside the Israeli-occupied territories, dismissing as a "mirage" the illegal regime’s longtime threats of attacks on Iran and Yemen.

Yemen’s Armed Forces launched a drone strike on an area near the US consular facility in Tel Aviv early on Friday, killing one person and injuring 10 others as the Israeli air defenses failed to intercept the unmanned aerial vehicle.

The Yemeni military’s targeting of the center of the Israeli-occupied territories was conducted in solidarity with the Palestinians in the besieged Gaza Strip, which has been under the usurping entity’s incessant bombardment over the past 10 months.

Ali Shamkhani said the Yemeni armed forces announced from the beginning of the Israeli regime’s unequal war against the oppressed and defenseless people of Gaza that their strategy was to support the oppressed people of besieged Palestinian territory.

Former secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) cited the Yemeni forces as saying that as long as the conflicts in Gaza and the massacre of children and the killing of oppressed people are occurring, they will use any means to stop the war in defense of the Palestinian people and that the Bab el-Mandeb Strait will be “unsafe.”

'Clever and capable'

Pointing to the high capability of Yemen's Ansarullah resistance movement, Shamkhani said appropriate and strong technical capabilities have been developed over the past years and praised the Yemenis as clever, capable, strong-willed and determined people.

Touching on the use of a Samad-3 drone by the Yemeni armed forces in the recent attack on Tel Aviv, Iran’s security official emphasized that the Yemenis have indeed defended the people of Gaza and their action was very daring and courageous.

Stressing the stubbornness of Netanyahu in the continuation of the war and the killing of civilians in Gaza, Shamkhani said, “The criminal Zionist regime killed more than a thousand people in three days, and the Yemenis had no choice but to use a tool to prevent such crimes."

Shamkhani also pointed to the threats of the Israeli regime’s war minister against Iran and Yemen, saying, “The Zionist regime has been threatening us for 40 years and its threats are a mirage as always.”

Israeli warplanes targeted on Saturday civilian facilities in the western Yemeni province of al-Hudaydah, killing three people and wounding more than 80 others.

The regime said it carried out the attacks in response to hundreds of operations that Yemen’s Armed Forces have been conducting against the occupied Palestinian territories and Israeli interests in support of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, who are enduring a genocidal Israeli-US war.

The Yemeni armed forces said on Sunday that they had targeted with ballistic missiles the port city of Eilat in the south of the Israeli-occupied territories as well as an American and an Israeli-owned vessels in the Red Sea following the regime's latest attack on the Arab country.

Yemen has been targeting the occupied territories as well as Israeli ships and vessels affiliated with the illegal regime since October 7, 2023 when Tel Aviv began a genocidal war against the Gaza Strip.

They have vowed to keep up their operations as long as the regime sustained the war and a simultaneous siege that it has been enforcing against the Palestinian territory.

The Israeli onslaught on Gaza has so far resulted in 38,919 documented Palestinian fatalities, mostly women and children, in addition to 89,622 injuries.
