Tonnes of dead fish surface in western Mexico

Tonnes of dead fish surface on the banks of the Santiago River in western Mexico, with local communities pointing the finger at pollution caused by factories upstream.

Around 250 companies discharge their waste in the area, which previously led authorities to prohibit fishing.

Jalisco state authorities have said that an investigation into the cause of the mass death is underway.
