US-Israeli genocide in Gaza

Israel’s relentless airstrikes and artillery fire continue to pound Gaza, taking the lives of more women and children across the blockaded territory. At least seven Palestinians were killed and several others injured after Israeli warplanes struck the town of Zawaida in central Gaza. Two girls were murdered in the regime’s bombing of a house in the center of Gaza City. In al-Rimal neighborhood of Gaza City, 11 Palestinians, including three children, were killed following Israeli airstrike on Cairo School, which housed the displaced people. In southern Gaza, four civilians were killed in an air raid on a building east of Khan Yunis. Six others died in separate attacks northwest of Rafah. Israeli airstrikes killed over 80 Palestinians in 24 hours, raising the overall death toll to nearly 38,800. The UN children's agency says 90 percent of Gazans have been displaced since October 2023, many of them are children.

Israeli crimes in Gaza

Palestinian officials in Gaza say the 72-day-long closure of the Rafah crossing by Israel has taken a heavy toll on patients in the blockaded territory. The government media office says 292 patients have so far died because they couldn’t leave Gaza to seek treatment. The media office said over 3,500 patients and injured people have been unable to receive necessary treatment outside Gaza. It added that a total of 25000 patients need treatment outside the territory. The media office warned that Gaza’s health system is in a critical state after Israeli strikes knocked nearly a dozen hospitals out of service. It said five-hundred medical personnel have been killed so far and 310 others have been abducted by the regime’s forces. The office said Israel and its main backer, the US, are fully responsible for the continued closure of Gaza’s crossings. It called for international action to mount pressure on Israel and the US to open the crossings.

Onslaught on Gaza

The UN agency for Palestinian refugees, UNRWA, says at least eight schools have been targeted by Israeli strikes in Gaza during the past 10 days. UNRWA commissioner general, Philippe Lazzarini, said six of the agency’s schools were among those targeted across the blockaded territory. He added that hitting schools by Israel has become an almost daily occurrence, and has robbed Gazan girls and boys of their childhood and education. Stressing that Israel’s blatant disregard of international humanitarian law continues unabated, Lazzarini said all rules of war have been broken in Gaza. His comments came just a day after the Palestinian education ministry said Israeli strikes have killed over 9,100 students in Gaza since last October. More than 14,600 students have been injured. Over 600,000 students have been also barred from enrolling in schools since the Israeli genocide started in Gaza.
