Commander hails Air Defense Force's rapid development of indigenous weapons, equipment

The chief commander of the Iranian Army’s Air Defense Force says the development of locally-made weapons and military equipment is one of the top priorities of the Air Defense Force, hailing the rapid progress made. 

“Today, by utilizing the serious experience of affiliated [retired] members, specialized manpower and research-based training, we are witnessing a developed form of defense that promises a bright future,” Brigadier General Alireza Sabahifard said.

He noted that the utilization of the veterans’ experience and the talent of the young generation of researchers have contributed to “the advancement of the army’s Air Defense Force.”

“Every day, new experience and progress are made in the Defense Force…which is a commendable issue,” Sabahifard said.

“The Defense Force is pursuing its path of progress, with Jihadi (diligent) work and efforts, the employment of young and skilled manpower, and the utilization of point of views and experience of affiliated members.”

In recent years, Iranian military experts and engineers made remarkable breakthroughs in manufacturing a broad range of indigenous equipment, making the armed forces self-sufficient.

Iranian officials have repeatedly underscored that the country will not hesitate to strengthen its military capabilities which are entirely meant for defense, and that Iran’s defense capabilities will never be subject to negotiations.

Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has repeatedly called for efforts to maintain and boost Iran’s defense capabilities.
