A delegation featuring leaders of the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas has met with Secretary-General of the Lebanese resistance movement Hezbollah, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah in the Lebanese capital Beirut.

The Press Office of Hezbollah’s Military Media released a photo of the meeting on Friday.

Commenting on the development, Hamas said the group’s delegation was being led by senior official Khalil al-Hayya.

“During the meeting, they discussed the general situation in the context of the Al-Aqsa Storm battle, and reviewed developments on the ground,” read a statement by the group.

Al-Aqsa Storm was the codename of on October 7 retaliatory operation by the Gaza Strip’s resistance movements, which saw them storming the occupied Palestinian territories and taking hundreds captive.

The Israeli regime responded with a genocidal war on Gaza that has so far killed more than 38,000 Palestinians, most of them women and children.

“The Hamas’ delegation presented the current state of the resistance on the field, affirming its steadfastness and the increasing effectiveness of its operations against the occupation forces,” the group stated.

The meeting addressed numerous operations that Hezbollah has been carrying out against the occupied territories in support of the war-hit Palestinians since the onset of the brutal Israeli military onslaught.

“The [Hamas’] delegation appreciated the role of Hezbollah in supporting Gaza, praising its performance, sacrifices, and the steadfastness of the Lebanese people in the confrontation with the Zionist entity,” it added.

The meeting also featured discussion about underway efforts by Hamas at reaching a potential truce deal that could end the Israeli genocide.

“Ideas and efforts in this regard were discussed, emphasizing the importance of achieving this goal,” Hamas’ statement pointed out.

Lastly, the statement noted that the Hamas’ officials had also held meetings with officials from Yemen’s Ansarullah popular resistance movement and Iraq’s Islamic Resistance, an umbrella group of anti-terror fighters.

Similar to Hezbollah, the Yemeni and Iraqi forces have been conducting countless operations in support of Gazans.
