US-Israeli genocide in Gaza

Israeli strikes on Gaza claim more Palestinian lives and cause further destruction across the besieged strip. In a 24-hour period, Israeli forces have killed at least 40 Palestinians and injured over 220. In the latest attacks, Israel used its fighter jets, drones and artillery to pound several areas across the besieged strip, including refugee camps and a park in Gaza City. The attacks left more than a dozen Palestinians killed with many others injured, including women and children. Elsewhere in Gaza, three Palestinians were killed after an Israeli drone targeted them near the southern city of Rafah. The casualties continued to mount, with four civilians killed and several others injured in an Israeli airstrike targeting the Al-Bureij refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip. The death toll from the US-Israeli genocide in Gaza has now risen to over 37,800.

Israel crackdown on protests

Israeli troops have clashed with protesters rallying in Tel Aviv to call for the ouster of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The troops used force to disperse the protesters and detained a number of them. Thousands gathered in Tel Aviv and several other cities to decry Netanyahu’s failure to secure the release of Israeli captives held in Gaza. They demanded that the Israeli cabinet strike a deal with the Palestinian resistance movement, Hamas, to return them. The protesters also demanded snap elections. Calls have been growing for Netanyahu to step down over the regime’s prolonged onslaught on the besieged Gaza Strip. Netanyahu is also embroiled in corruption charges that include bribery, fraud, and breach of trust. Protesters argue that he is seeking to prolong the war in order to evade his trials.

Iran presidential vote

Campaigning is underway in Iran for the second round of the country’s presidential election. The push for votes will continue until 0430 GMT on Thursday, 24 hours before polls open for the run-off election. Masoud Pezeshkian and Saeed Jalili finished first and second respectively in the first round. But they failed to secure more than 50 percent of the votes, which was required to win outright. As well as their public events and online campaigns, the two candidates will also have the chance to sway voters during two live face-to-face TV debates and addresses. The two-hour debates will be held on Monday and Tuesday 1800 GMT and you can watch them live and in full here on Press TV.
