Student march onto US consulate in Karachi in support of Palestinians
Hundreds of supporters of Pakistan’s Islami Jamiat Talaba (IJT) marched towards the US consulate in Karachi on Saturday to express solidarity with the Palestinians in Gaza.
IJT is the student wing of the religious and political party Jamaat e Islami.
Carrying Palestinian flags, they chanted “Free Palestine” while others held placards which read “Save Gaza” and “Al-Quds is ours.”
Jamaat e Islami Karachi chief Munem Zafar Khan said the demonstration was peaceful.
“We demand that Palestinians should be free, the people of Gaza should be free, Al-Aqsa should be free. The genocide of Palestinians in Gaza must end,” he added.
