Israeli vessel targeted in joint operation by Yemeni forces, Iraqi resistance

In this file picture, MSC Manzanillo container ship is seen cruising at an undisclosed location.

The spokesman for Yemen’s Armed Forces says the naval units and fighters from Iraq’s anti-terror resistance groups have conducted a joint airstrike against an Israeli vessel.

Brigadier General Yahya Saree made the remarks as he delivered a televised statement broadcast live from the Yemeni capital, Sana’a, on Wednesday evening.

He said Yemeni forces and their comrades in the Islamic Resistance in Iraq – an umbrella group of anti-terror fighters – carried out a successful operation against MSC Manzanillo container ship at the Port of Haifa with a squadron of kamikaze drones.

Saree said the Yemeni naval units will continue strikes in support of and in solidarity with the Palestinians of Gaza until the devastating Israeli onslaught ends, and the tight blockade on the coastal territory is lifted.

Yemenis have declared their open support for Palestine’s struggle against Israel since the regime launched its savage campaign in Gaza on October 7 after the Palestinian resistance movements carried out Operation Al-Aqsa Storm against the occupying entity.

The Yemeni Armed Forces say they won’t stop the attacks until Israel stops its ground and aerial offensives.

Leader of the Ansarullah resistance movement Abdul-Malik al-Houthi has said it is “a great honor and blessing to be confronting America directly.”

The attacks have forced some of the world’s biggest shipping and oil companies to suspend transit through one of the world’s most important maritime trade routes.

Tankers are instead adding thousands of miles to international shipping routes by sailing around the continent of Africa rather than going through the Suez Canal.

Additionally, the Islamic Resistance in Iraq has been launching attacks on Israeli targets ever since the occupying regime started the genocidal campaign in Gaza.

Israel has killed more than 37,700 Palestinians, most of them women and children, and injured over 86,300 in Gaza since early October.

More than 1.7 million people have also been internally displaced.
