Guardians of the sky: Iran says Air Defense Force monitoring enemy's slightest movement

The picture shows Brigadier General Alireza Sabahifard, commander of the Islamic Republic of Iran Air Defense Force (IRIADF) is examining a digital map of the country’s airspace.

The commander of the Islamic Republic of Iran Air Defense Force (IRIADF), a branch of the country’s Army, has hailed the force’s strong stewardship of the country’s airspace.

“The slightest of movements [around the Islamic Republic’s airspace] do not escape the [surveilling] eyes of the Air Defense Force,” Brigadier General Alireza Sabahifard, the IRIADF’s commander, said on Friday.

The force’s experts keep the country’s airspace borders under surveillance around the clock, he said, asserting, “The Iranian citizens’ peace of mind constitutes the priority of the [country’s] Armed Forces, Army, and the Air Defense Force.”

Remarking earlier this month, Sabahifard said the Air Defense Force had earned great achievements throughout the previous years, noting that the force had made “leaping progress” by exercising self-reliance.

The IRIADF had a variety of systems that enabled it to react to any possible threats on time, he said at the time, adding that the force had also made great strides in specialized areas, especially in the field of developing different types of drones and radars.

The country has been relying on domestic endeavors and know-how to make significant advances in the direction of enhancing the self-sufficiency of its Armed Forces.

Heeding the directives of Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, Iranian officials have repeatedly underscored that the country would not hesitate to strengthen its military capabilities, which are entirely meant for defensive purposes and are, therefore, never subject to negotiation.

‘Iran’s Islamic Revolution immune to sabotage, conspiracy’

Sabahifard, meanwhile, expressed certainty that the country’s Islamic Revolution was immune to acts of sabotage and conspiracy by “a handful of deceived individuals.”

“The integrity [that has existed] among [the members of] the nation at various junctures, has served to neutralize the enemies’ conspiracies,” the commander stated.

“As long as there is unity, integrity, and empathy at the heart of our Islamic society, acts of sabotage [against the country] would lead nowhere.”

Advising strong electoral turnout

Adding to his remarks, Sabahifard advised that the Iranian nation stage a strong turnout in the upcoming snap presidential election, which is slated to be held on June 28.

Such instances of nationwide participation in the Islamic Republic’s political developments served to foil the enemies’ plots against the country, the commander remarked.

“Iranians never yield to subjugation and spare no effort towards contributing to the country’s elevation,” he noted.
