Severe flooding and landslides wreaked havoc in southeast China leading to the evacuation of over 35,000 locals, according to the provincial flood control office.

Drone footage captured in Fujian Province shows the aftermath in the flood-hit Nanping City, with submerged houses and cars as well as light traffic on multiple bridges surrounding the area.

According to reports, the latest round of rainfall has impacted 179,800 people, damaging 12,350 hectares of crops, and leading to an economic loss totaling 1.61 billion yuan ($225 million).

The provincial flood control office also reported that several hydrological stations along the 11 rivers in Fujian Province had recorded water levels ranging from 0.07 meters to 3.65 meters above the warning level.
