Iranian intelligence forces have captured an individual in the country’s central province of Qom on charges of affiliation to the Israeli Mossad spy agency and collaboration with foreign-based media outlets involved in a propaganda campaign against the Islamic Republic.

Tasnim news agency reported that the individual was identified and arrested following his numerous attempts to stoke unrest in the aftermath of the death of 22-year-old Iranian woman Mahsa Amini while in police custody back in September 2022, as well as his frequent insulting remarks aimed at Iranian authorities and law enforcement forces in the cyberspace.

The report said documents acknowledging his connection to the Israeli Mossad spy agency and collaboration with foreign-based anti-Iran satellite television channels were uncovered after thorough investigations.

He has been handed over to judicial authorities for legal action.

Earlier this month, Iranian intelligence forces captured an individual in the country’s northwestern province of Ardabil on charges of espionage for Mossad.

The fugitive was wanted by Iran’s Intelligence Ministry, and arrested upon an order from the Prosecutor's Office of Ardabil Province.

According to the Media Bureau of the provincial Prosecutor's Office, the Mossad agent was in close contact with high-profile Israeli intelligence officers through social media, and was gathering critical information for them under the guise of a news editor.

He had traveled to several provinces in the hope of taking refuge there and finally leaving the country, before he was identified and captured during a surprise operation in Ardabil Province.

Mossad reportedly decided to immediately close his user accounts and delete related information once the news about his arrest emerged.
