Gaza ceasefire resolution

The Palestinian resistance movement, Hamas, has welcomed a UN Security Council resolution calling for an immediate and permanent ceasefire in Gaza.  Hamas expressed readiness to cooperate with mediators in ceasefire negotiations to implement the terms of the resolution. The Palestinian Islamic Jihad and the Ramallah-based Palestinian Authority have also welcomed the resolution. The resolution backs a ceasefire proposal by US President Joe Biden with 14 members voting in favor and Russia abstaining. The three-phase plan also envisages the complete withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza, the exchange of prisoners and the reconstruction of the territory. With the US presidential election around the corner, the Biden administration is under growing public pressure from inside and outside the country to stop supporting Tel Aviv and the genocide in the Gaza Strip.

Israeli crimes in Gaza

Israeli forces have killed 4 more Palestinians during a raid in the occupied West Bank. According to the Palestinian Healthy Ministry, the 4 young men were killed after the regime’s troops opened fire on a vehicle near the village of Kafr Nima west of Ramallah. Hamas resistance movement reacted to the killings, saying the Nazi regime’s brutality will not undermine the resolve of Palestinian people and the resistance. Israeli forces claimed the vehicle tried to run them over and seized the dead bodies. The regime’s military then entered the village and injured eight Palestinians during clashes. Local sources say Israeli forces prevented ambulances from reaching the wounded by opening fire on them. A day of general strike has been announced in Ramallah. Israeli forces have killed around 540 Palestinians in the occupied West Bank since the regime launched its genocidal war in Gaza on October 7.

Yemen arrests spies

Yemen’s security service has announced it has successfully arrested members of a US-Israeli spy network with direct links to the CIA. The announcement revealed that the network exerted influence over policy-making centers within Yemen and infiltrated numerous government organizations over several decades. They targeted economic activists, as well as owners of oil and commercial companies, inviting them to collaborate with American and Israeli intelligence services. The Yemeni Ministry of Agriculture was among the government institutions mentioned in the announcement that fell victim to infiltration by spies, resulting in the sabotage of agricultural research projects.
