Protesters in Paris marched on Saturday (June 1) demanding a ceasefire in Gaza as the conflict in the region is about to enter its eighth month and prospects for peace remain dim.
About 15,000 protesters joined a march, under pouring rain, from the Place de la Republique towards Gambetta square in eastern Paris.
Pro-Palestinian marches have been held in Paris for several days, since an Israeli offensive in Rafah led to casualties and displaced more than a million Palestinians who had been sheltering there.
More than 36,379 Palestinians have been confirmed killed and 82,407 have been injured in the Israeli military offensive on Gaza since Oct. 7, the Gaza health ministry said in a statement on Saturday.
