Thousands rally outside US embassy in Jakarta to condemn Israeli war
Thousands of Indonesians demonstrate in front of the US embassy in Jakarta in support of Palestinians and to criticize the US for its role in the Israeli war on Gaza.
Traffic was halted along the way as protesters, organized by several Muslim conservative groups, marched to a major street outside the embassy, chanting “Allahu Akbar,” or “God is Great,” and “Save Palestinians.”
Hundreds of police were deployed to secure the embassy, the nearby presidential palace and the United Nations mission.
