A senior leader of the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas has called on Muslims around the world to besiege US and Israeli embassies as part of their campaign to force an end to the aggression on Gaza.
Khaled Meshaal, a former Hamas chief who currently leads the group’s diaspora office, said on Saturday that Israel is continuing to commit crimes in Gaza while relying on US support.
“We call on our Muslim ummah to continue their protest and rage for this aggression to stop and to besiege the embassies of the US and the Zionist regime like a storm,” said Meshaal while addressing a conference on Palestine in the Turkish city of Istanbul.
He said the Palestinians are on the cusp of victory in their battle against the Israeli regime in Gaza.
The Palestinian resistance leader said that the Israeli regime is losing confidence after nearly eight months of war in Gaza while resistance groups are in a good condition and are regrouping themselves in various parts of the Palestinian territory.
“We are in a historic moment to defeat Israel and to dismantle the Zionist project,” Meshaal said
More than 35,300 people have been killed in Gaza since Israel started its brutal aggression on the territory in early October.
The aggression came after Hamas carried out an unprecedented military operation in the Israeli-occupied areas near Gaza, killing some 1,200 Israeli settlers and military forces.
The death toll in Gaza may further increase in coming days as Israel plans an invasion of the southern Gazan city of Rafah where more than a million people have sought refuge from the regime’s brutal attacks elsewhere.
