US-Israeli genocide in Gaza
The death toll in the Gaza Strip continues to grow as Israel carries out more bombings in the besieged territory. The Health Ministry in Gaza says Israeli forces killed nearly 100 people and injured over 140 others in a day of attacks. At least 30 civilians were killed when regime forces bombed a gathering of popular committees formed to secure the transfer of aid from the Kuwait Roundabout to Gaza City. Some 15 people were also killed by an Israeli airstrike targeting a house in the al-Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza. Rescue operations are ongoing to recover victims trapped under the rubble of the three-storey building. The death toll from the US-Israeli genocide in Gaza since October 7 has risen above 31,800 while nearly 74,000 have also been injured.
'Israel sabotaging ceasefire talk'
The Hamas political bureau chief says Israel is sabotaging ceasefire talks after the regime’s deadly raid on Gaza's largest hospital, al-Shifa, which killed dozens of Palestinians. Ismail Haniyeh says the attack proves Israel’s intent to obstruct medical efforts to save Palestinian lives and dismantle essential aspects of human existence in the besieged strip. He said Israel also seeks to sow chaos and perpetuate violence among Palestinians by targeting police officers and government officials in Gaza. Haniyeh, however, stressed that Israel will fail to achieve its criminal plans. He vowed that during ceasefire talks, Hamas would remain committed to the rights of Palestinians and their clear demands for a stop to the Israeli aggression, the withdrawal of its forces from Gaza, and return of the displaced people to their homes. Negotiations for a Gaza ceasefire are underway in Doha with Qatari mediators saying a counter-proposal could soon be presented to Hamas.
Iran president message
Iran's president says preventing a humanitarian crisis in Gaza is the immediate responsibility of international organizations, especially the UN, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and the International Court of Justice. Ebrahim Raeisi made the comment in a message to leaders of Islamic countries. He added that Israel’s continued genocide and war crimes in Gaza are the main concern of Muslim nations. Raeisi said the Zionist regime, in collusion with the US, is pursuing the goal of eliminating all signs of Palestinian existence and identity. The Iranian president added that Israel is also planning to forcibly displace the people of Gaza and the occupied West Bank to neighboring countries. He stressed that effective steps must be taken to stop Israel’s genocide in Gaza and bring the regime’s criminal officials to justice.
