Over a hundred Russian citizens have already cast their votes in the capital city.

The country’s consulates in Isfahan and Rasht, as well as two designated polling stations in the cities of Bushehr and Dasht-Abbas are also hosting ballot boxes for Russians residing in Iran.

Russians began voting in a three-day presidential election on Friday. Polling stations will conclude their activities on Sunday at 8:00 pm (1800 GMT) in Russia's Kaliningrad exclave, which is situated between the European Union members Poland and Lithuania.

The country’s Central Election Commission said on Saturday that the voter turnout in the 2024 Russian presidential election exceeded 55% on the second day of voting.

Leonid Slutsky of the Liberal Democratic Party, Vladislav Davankov of the New People Party and Nikolay Kharitonov of the Communist Party are the three other candidates approved by Russia’s Central Election Commission (CEC) along with incumbent President Vladimir Putin

According to Kremlin experts, Putin, 71, who is running for his fifth term, will emerge victorious of the polling, and will secure another six-year term.
