Gaza's airdropped lies

The air drops over Gaza are the cruel political salt adding insult to injury for Palestinians on the brink of starvation.

According to the European Union's foreign policy chief, Joseph Borrell, the deliveries by road are being artificially closed and starvation is being used as a war arm.

Well, is Brussels, finally beginning to at least acknowledge the crimes being committed by one of their largest trading allies, Tel Aviv?

A similar sentiment has been echoed by the UK's foreign policy bigwig, Lord David Cameron, who has urged Israel to open the roads, let more aid in and implement an immediate humanitarian pause.

It seems, as usual, asking Israel nicely has not accomplished the task, as the tens of thousands of martyred Palestinians will testify.

Israel's usual allies are beginning to make the right noises, but the fact that the bombardment is still ongoing is a testament to their moral bankruptcy and failure to act.

What is also clear is that public utterances do not match public actions.

In the case of the UK helping to coordinate aid drop on a territory you're actively helping decimate is beyond parody.

This is also the country attempting to push through new definitions of extremism that would directly target pro-Palestinian voices, so their hypocrisy is laid bare for all to see.

With Ramadan upon the steadfast Palestinians, will existing tensions in the West Bank bubble over?
