Resistance groups have inflicted heavy losses on the Israeli military in the Gaza Strip amid the invading regime’s genocidal war on the Palestinian territory.
On Monday, the al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, a coalition of Palestinian armed groups based in the occupied West Bank, said it had carried out 14 operations against Israeli forces.
The brigades said it had “engaged in fierce clashes [with the troops] and targeted gatherings of Zionist enemy army vehicles,” causing “several deaths and injuries within the ranks of the enemy army.”
Meanwhile, Lebanon’s al-Mayadeen television news network cited various resistance groups in Gaza as reporting making substantial gains against the aggressors.
According to the report, al-Qassam Brigades, Hamas’ military wing, carried out a drone attack against gatherings of Israeli troops, including their “command tents,” east of the city of Beit Hanoun in the northern Gaza Strip.
The brigades also said it had caused heavy casualties among the regime’s ranks in the southern city of Khan Younis by bombing a booby-trapped house that had been attacked by an Israeli infantry brigade.
For its part, al-Quds Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Jihad, which is Hamas’s fellow Gaza-based resistance movement, reported downing an Israeli drone used by the regime’s army for intelligence purposes, northeast of the Bureij refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip.
Israel launched the war against Gaza on October 7 after Operation Al-Aqsa Storm, a surprise operation by the coastal sliver’s resistance groups against the occupied territories that was staged in retaliation for the intensification of Tel Aviv’s decades-long crimes against Palestinians.
The regime has so far during the war killed more than 31,112 Gazans, most of them women, children, and adolescents.
So far, during the military onslaught, the Israeli army has officially acknowledged losing 590 forces and officers as a result of the resistance’s operations. The fatalities include 248, who have been killed in ground battles.
Gaza’s resistance groups have also been carrying out numerous retaliatory rocket attacks against the occupied Palestinian territories.
Also on Monday, Israeli media outlets reported that Hamas still possessed the capability to fire rockets at the central part of the occupied territories.
The Israeli regime had vowed to “eliminate” the movement as a result of the war.
Earlier, Chairman of the US Senate Intelligence Committee Mark Warner asserted that the regime’s so-called goal of “eliminating” Hamas was not “a realistic goal.”
“140 days in, they’ve basically taken out only about 35% of the Hamas fighters, and literally have only penetrated less than a third of the tunnel network” used by the group, Warner said, contradicting Israel’s much larger estimates.
The al-Mayadeen report also said the Palestinian resistance’s operations against the Israeli forces in the northern Gaza Strip had confirmed “the presence and strength of the resistance,” and “refuted the Israeli claims of imposing control over the northern Gaza Strip.”
