Day of judgement

The International Court of Justice rules that Israeli regime must take steps to prevent acts of genocide taking place in Gaza but stops short of ordering a ceasefire.

Frustration, for many pro Palestinians had hoped, the ICJ would've fully backed South Africa's request for special measures to be granted, whilst the full genocide case goes through the UN's top court, a process that will take years.

Make no mistake, Israel has been censured. The evidence used to arrive at the court's interim decision painted a picture of brutality, occupation and denial of the most basic rights of Palestinians.

Israel, the ICJ says, must now allow humanitarian aid to enter Gaza and must punish those who publicly call and promote genocide against the Palestinians.

But the majority of the international community can already see that Israel is thumbing its nose at the ruling.

Ministers for the occupation entity have said, they will not be lectured by the ICJ, and still refer to the South African case as anti-Semitic.

In the meantime, Palestinians are being killed by the hour with nearly 200 souls smarted in the past day.

With the death toll now over 26,000 have Western institutions, yet again failed Palestinians?
