The world Food program estimates all Gazas 2.3 million residents are now food insecure.
With aid agencies unable to have regular deliveries due to the bombardment taking place in the besieged enclave, tens of thousands of Gazans are in danger of literally starving to death in the cold. Those who did not succumb to the Israeli airstrikes, or the rubble of their neighborhoods being demolished, even the lucky ones who may have found treatment at any of the handful of medical facilities that are still operational, will now surely succumb to disease and or starvation.
Then there is, of course, the environmental price of the bombardment of Gaza, where the natural space has been reduced to a graveyard, farming areas; decimated, livestock killed. The areas natural aquifers have been contaminated and the toxins of over 68 days off bombardment are present. And will remain so for generations.
Gazans remain steadfast, but in the run-up to Christmas, one of the holiest times of the year, will the international community finally say enough is enough and hold the Zionist entity to account?
