Iran's first bio space capsule carrying animals was successfully launched into orbit from the Semnan Space Center in Semnan province on Wednesday.

Footage shows the Salman launcher built by the Aerospace Industries Organisation (AIO) of Iran's Defense Ministry taking off ahead of reaching an altitude of 130 kilometers from Earth's surface.

The 500-kilogram was built by the Aerospace Research Institute of the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology. The launch is considered Iran's first step toward sending humans into space.
