Israeli war on Gaza

Israel keeps pounding the besieged Gaza Strip for a second day after the end of its week-long truce with the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas. The fresh Israeli strikes have targeted residential buildings as well as areas where Palestinians are taking shelter. Israeli warplanes and tanks have attacked 400 targets, including a refugee camp in the city of Deir al-Balah and three mosques in the southern city of Khan Yunis. The chief of Gaza's European Hospital says the health facility is unable to provide medical services due to the overwhelming number of casualties. Videos from Khan Yunis also show Nasser Hospital is overwhelmed with injured Palestinians including children. According to UNICEF, Gaza is once again the most dangerous place in the world to be a child. Israel’s resumed bombardment of Gaza has killed at least 240 people. They’re in addition to over 15,000 people, mostly women and kids, killed prior to the ceasefire.

'Israel responsible for war'

The Palestinian resistance movement Hamas says Israel and the United States are responsible for the expiration of a ceasefire in Gaza. Hamdan said the US has given the green light to Israel for the resumption of its atrocities in Gaza. However, he said Hamas is ready to respond to any serious mediatory effort to cease Israeli aggression. The spokesman also reiterated that Israel’s military captives in Gaza will only be handed over if all Palestinian prisoners are released from Israeli jails. There are more than 8,000 Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails. Nearly 3,000 were arrested after the regime’s onslaught on Gaza.

Israeli 'war on children'

A UNICEF spokesman in the Gaza Strip says the Nasser hospital in the territory is overwhelmed by wounded children. James Elder says inaction by the influential countries is allowing Israel to kill children there.
