Qassam Brigades spox: Israeli aggression will disappear, unlike resistance fighters’ willpower

The spokesman for the Ezzedine al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of the Hamas resistance movement, has praised the perseverance of resistance fighters in the face of the Israeli onslaught on Gaza, saying the Tel Aviv regime’s aggression will eventually disappear but the willpower of the Palestinian resistance will never diminish.

“Bitter confrontations are going on with Zionist forces in several neighborhoods of the Gaza Strip. Al-Qassam Brigades fighters have destroyed 60 Israeli military vehicles, including 10 armored personnel carriers, over the past three days in the Gaza Strip,” Abu Obeida said in a statement.

He explained that his comrades have managed to carry out several qualitative offensives against Israeli troops, saying the operations have inflicted heavy casualties on enemy forces, leaving scores of them dead and injured.

“Our fighters directly targeted an enemy military personnel carrier in the al-Tawam neighborhood with a [guided] missile. The three Israeli soldiers onboard got out to flee and were subsequently targeted with anti-personnel munitions,” Abu Obeida noted.

He added that several Israeli soldiers have been killed in friendly fire, emphasizing that the occupying Tel Aviv regime only pursues destruction and mass murder of civilians in Gaza.

“The Zionist enemy is in a state of utter chaos and indecisiveness. The crimes it perpetrates are a clear manifestation of its uncertainty about victory in the Gaza war,” Abu Obeida said.

According to the Palestinian Health Ministry, Israel has killed at least 13,300 Palestinians in Gaza, including 5,600 children and 3,550 women, since the regime waged the war on the besieged enclave on October 7.

A spokesperson from the ministry said they have evacuated at least 200 patients from the Indonesian Hospital. The evacuations come as Israeli tanks encircle the hospital – the last remaining medical facility in northern Gaza.

The World Health Organization has condemned the attacks on the Indonesian Hospital, with its chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus saying he was “appalled” at the situation.

On Thursday, a group of UN experts, including several special rapporteurs, said Israel’s assault on Gaza pointed to “genocide in the making.”

In a statement calling for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza earlier this month, seven UN special rapporteurs warned that the Palestinian people were at “grave risk of genocide.”

The UN’s food agency has called for a halt to hostilities in the Gaza Strip, home to some 2.3 million people.

“Existing food systems are collapsing, and to reach those in need, WFP and our partners need increased access and resources like fuel, gas, and connectivity,” the World Food Programme said.
