Pro-Palestine demonstrations continue in Britain and France

People continue staging demonstrations in support of Palestine in cities across Britain and France.

People across the United Kingdom and France have held fresh rallies in support of the Palestinians suffering from a relentless war of aggression by the Israeli regime in the Gaza Strip and in the occupied West Bank.

Protests continued in the British capital London on Saturday as people marched toward the offices of the opposition Labour Party to demand party leaders press for a ceasefire in Gaza.

Protesters waved Palestinian flags and held placards reading “Starmer -- blood on your hands” in reference to Labour Party leader Keir Starmer and his refusal to call for a complete stop to the Israeli attacks on the Palestinians in Gaza.

Demonstrations were also held across the UK in cities like Birmingham, Cambridge, Liverpool and elsewhere with the Stop The War Coalition saying it had preferred to organize smaller rallies in towns and villages this weekend instead of holding a massive rally in London like the one last Saturday which attracted 300,000 people.

Clashes were reported between the British police and pro-Palestine demonstrators in several locations. Police said they had arrested a total of 386 people as of Saturday in connection with the protests since they erupted in early October.

Protests were also held across France on Saturday as reports said several thousand people defied torrential rain and marched through central neighborhoods of the capital Paris to demand a ceasefire in Gaza.

“Halt the massacre in Gaza and West Bank, immediate ceasefire,” read a placard in the demonstration.

Several hundred people attended a minute's silence for Palestinian victims of the war in Marseille while police in Toulouse said that the number of people taking part in a pro-Palestine march in the city had exceeded 1,200.

People across Europe have held massive rallies to call for a stop to the Israeli regime’s relentless onslaught of civilians in Gaza.

The aggression, which has claimed more than 12,300 lives as of Saturday, started on October 7, when the Palestinian resistance group Hamas launched an operation into the Israeli-occupied territories of Palestine near Gaza, killing some 1,200 Israeli settlers and military forces.
