Twenty-six people were killed in a fire at a coal company's office building in northern China while another 38 were injured, state media reported on Thursday.

The fire broke out at 6:50 a.m. (2250 GMT on November 15) at the four-storey Yongju Coal Industry Joint Building in Luliang city, located in the country's top coal-producing hub of Shanxi.

The cause of the fire was still under investigation. There was no official statement from the fire department or police station.
