Israeli onslaught on Gaza
The military wing of the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas says it has foiled Israeli operations in two areas inside Gaza Strip. In a statement, Qassam Brigades says it is confronting a ground incursion into Beit Hanoun and east Bureij in the northern and central parts of the Gaza Strip. Israel announced extension of ground operations in the besieged territory late Friday. The strikes are being described as the fiercest since Israel began its onslaught on October 7. The regime has cut communications and access to the internet across the Gaza Strip. Local officials say Israel seeks to perpetrate a new massacre against Palestinians.
Hamas ready to fight
A senior Hamas official also says Israel is attempting to project an image of victory. The official, however, says the resistance is putting up a heroic fight, and the world will see the outcome until dawn.
UNGA resolution on Gaza
The UN General Assembly has overwhelmingly approved a resolution that calls for a humanitarian truce in the Gaza Strip. The non-binding resolution demands an immediate, durable and sustained humanitarian truce. It also condemns all acts of violence against civilians as the death toll from the Israeli onslaught tops 73-hundred, including thousands of women and children. The resolution, proposed by Jordan, was adopted with 120 votes in favor, 14 votes against, and 45 abstentions. The Hamas resistance movement has welcomed the move. Israel, however, has claiming the UN no longer holds any legitimacy. The United States, the main supporter of the Israeli regime in the war, voted against the resolution.
