Israel war on Gaza
Israel presses ahead with its deadly war on Gaza, with most of the massacres being committed in areas the regime claimed would be safe. At least 22 Palestinians, mostly children, have been killed in latest Israeli air raids on the southern Gaza Strip. The health ministry says more than six-thousand and 500 people have been killed, most of them women and children since the start of the offensive. Meanwhile, the Israeli military says it conducted a brief ground incursion into northern Gaza on Thursday. In a statement, the military said incursion was in preparation for the next stage of war on Gaza. It added, troops exited the area at the end of the activity. There was no immediate comment from the Hamas resistance movement. Israel has massed troops and tanks around Gaza for what the regime calls an imminent ground invasion after nearly three weeks of shelling and bombing of the blockaded Palestinian territory.
Gaza humanitarian crisis
An international charity group says the Israeli regime is using starvation as a weapon of war against civilians in Gaza. Oxfam says just 2-percent of food that would have been delivered has entered Gaza since Israel imposed a complete blockade on the coastal enclave. It says while a small amount of food aid has been allowed in, no commercial food imports have been delivered. Meanwhile, the UN says hospitals in the Gaza Strip are now admitting only emergency cases as they run dangerously low on fuel. That’s because Israel is blocking fuel deliveries to Gaza. In the meantime, the UN agency running humanitarian operations in Gaza, known as UNRWA, says it may shut down in the coming hours due to a lack of fuel.
Pro-Palestine rallies
People around the world continue to express solidarity with Palestinians. Now, students in several American universities, including in New York, have participated in a national walkout to denounce the ongoing Israeli onslaught on the Gaza Strip. The students at New York University chanted 'Free Free Palestine, holding banners and waving Palestinian flags. They accused the Israeli regime of committing genocide in Gaza. Other campuses, including Boston University, and the University of Michigan witnessed similar demonstrations. Pro-Palestinian rallies continue across the globe amid growing anti-Israeli sentiment. In the Argentinean capital Buenos Aires, thousands participated in a march to the Israeli embassy to denounce the regime’s bombing and genocide in Gaza. Palestinians in the occupied West Bank city of Ramallah also rallied to express support for Gazans in their fight to liberate their land. Earlier on Wednesday, thousands of school children gathered in Iran’s capital to condemn the Israeli aggression against Palestinians.
