The Israeli war in Gaza still rages on. The regime is committing war crimes with impunity before the eyes of the world.

In just one case on October 17, Israel targeted al-Ahli Hospital in Gaza that killed more than 500 Palestinians, many of whom were taking refuge from relentless bombings. The heart-wrenching incident triggered global outrage. In Iran, many took to the streets to show their solidarity with Palestinians. In fact, Iran is among the handful countries in the world wherein both the state and the nation support the Palestinian cause - despite all the difficulties on the way. But the question is, why has the Islamic Republic of Iran pursued unwaveringly pro-Palestinian policies for more than four decades? What is the rationale behind Iran’s attitude towards Palestine?
