Iran FM reaffirms support for Palestine, urges immediate end to Israeli genocide

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian (C), Chief of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad resistance movement Ziad al-Nakhaleh (L) and Political Bureau Chief of the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas Ismail Haniyeh

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian has reaffirmed the Islamic Republic's support for the oppressed Palestinian people, saying Israel must immediately stop its massacre of civilians.

Amir-Abdollahian made the remark in separate phone calls with Hamas Political Bureau Chief Ismail Haniyeh and Islamic Jihad Secretary-General Ziad al-Nakhaleh on Monday.

He noted that Israel must open the Rafah border crossing between Egypt and Gaza to let desperately needed aid flow to Palestinians running short of basic needs and also stop the forced replacement of people in the besieged Strip.

'Enemy unable to break will of resistance'

The leaders of the Palestinian resistance movements told the Iranian foreign minister that the enemy is unable to break the will of the resistance front as its heavy fight with the Israeli regime enters the 17th consecutive day.

Haniyeh hailed Iran's stance on support for the Palestinian people, describing it as dynamic Islamic diplomacy with the purpose of clarifying realities.

He added that the United States' all-out support for Israel is among the root causes of the continuous crimes of the neo-Nazi regime.

He emphasized that Israel's brutal and blind attacks against the defenseless people and citizens in Gaza proved that the regime is unable to counter the brave struggle of the resistance fighters and Palestinians against the occupation.

However, Haniyah said, the resistance has dealt a heavy strategic blow to the enemy and continues to control the pulse of the battle against the occupiers despite the brutality of the Zionist enemy.

He warned that the shortage of medicine and fuel supplies for hospitals would be a prelude to a huge humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza.

The resistance groups' ongoing Operation Al-Aqsa Storm against Israel has succeeded in forming a new strategic balance in the region, Haniyeh pointed out.

For his part, Nakhaleh said Israel has killed women, children and the elderly, destroyed residential areas and hit civilian targets but the resistance is in very good conditions.

The resistance fighters would strongly continue their battle against the Israeli regime, he added.

He stressed the importance of reinforcing international solidarity with Palestine, saying Iran plays an important role in this regard.

Israel waged the war on Gaza on October 7 after the Gaza-based Palestinian resistance groups launched Operation Al-Aqsa Storm, a surprise attack into the occupied territories in response to the Israeli regime’s intensified crimes against the Palestinian people.

According to the Palestinian Health Ministry, the Israeli onslaught on Gaza has so far killed over 5,087 Palestinians.
