French police brutality

France has been plagued by nationwide protests against systemic racism and police violence since another unarmed young man of color was killed by police during a routine traffic stop.

Paris alone saw over a week of riots against the police killing and the controversial law that police have seized upon to justify what protesters are calling state violence and summary executions. The controversial law and its consequences for minorities in France constitute the main topic of this episode of the Spotlight program.
