Fierce wildfires have been spreading in Bolivia and Peru, affecting residents in both countries, with at least two dead reported in Peru.
In Cochabamba and La Paz, the fires burned vegetation and endangered wildlife. However, the Bolivian vice-minister of Civil Defense, Juan Carlos Calvimontes, reported that Beni is the region with the highest number of forest fires.
According to Calvimontes, more than 500 Armed Forces troops have been sent to the regions affected by the fires.
Meanwhile, Peru faces a similar struggle, as fires scorch the Apurimac region, where two people died, two more are missing and at least 11 are wounded.
Local media reported that at least 200 hectares have been consumed by the fire.
