Israel bars Muslim worshipers from entering Ibrahimi Mosque
In a separate development on Tuesday, the Israeli army shut the Ibrahimi Mosque in al-Khalil to Muslim worshipers to allow settlers to celebrate a religious event.
Ghassan al-Rajbi, the director of the mosque, denounced the closure as “a blatant violation of the Mosque’s sanctity and a provocative and aggressive step against Muslims’ right to have access to their places of worship.”
The Ibrahimi Mosque is believed to be the burial site of the prophets Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
