The Quran is clear in its opposition to homosexuality. Same-sex behaviour was not the only offence the people of Luṭ committed, but it was nonetheless their emblematic transgression. It is the sin most ascribed to them in the Quran and is mentioned repeatedly.
Muslim scholars say our stance as a community should be to affirm clearly and unequivocally the values of Islam, which entails rejecting any compromise on the question of LGBTQ lifestyles and any notion of allyship with its votaries.
