Israeli crimes

Israeli forces have killed three Palestinians during a raid on Jenin refugee camp in the occupied West Bank. The forces also injured nearly 40 Palestinians, some, including a 15-year-old girl, critically. The raid also triggered clashes between regime troopers and Palestinian resistance fighters in the city. Israeli sources say at least six regime forces were injured. An Israeli military helicopter also launched a rocket attack on a building in Jenin. This is the regime’s first aerial attack on the West Bank in two decades. Tel Aviv has unleashed a wave of attacks on cities across the area over the past months. The deadly raids have especially intensified since the formation of the right-wing cabinet of Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Iran-Eurasia trade deal

Moscow says a free trade zone agreement between Iran and members of the Eurasian Economic Union is possible by the end of the year. Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexey Overchuk says members of the Central Asian Union are in the final stages of their talks to establish a free trade zone with Iran. The regional agreement would replace and expand an interim pact, under which both sides enjoy reduced customs duties on hundreds of categories of goods. Overchuk also said the economic union is holding separate discussions on creating a common natural gas market. The Eurasian Economic Union is comprised of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Russia.

Korean Peninsula tensions

North Korea has vowed to keep developing its nuclear capability as tensions are running high on the Peninsula. The pledge was made during a key meeting of the ruling party in Pyongyang. North Korea also said it’s determined to strengthen solidarity with countries opposing "the US strategy for world supremacy." North Korean leader Kim Jong-un opened the meeting on Friday. On the same day, a US nuclear-powered submarine arrived at a South Korean port in the wake of Pyongyang’s recent missile launch off its east coast. North Korea says its missile launches are in response to joint military drills by the US and its regional allies. It says the maneuvers threaten its security and are actually rehearsals for an invasion.
