Iran and Uzbekistan have signed 10 documents for cooperation in a host of fields.
Officials from both sides also issued a statement in Tehran on Sunday in the presence of President Ebrahim Raeisi and his visiting Uzbek counterpart Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
According to the documents, Iran and Uzbekistan will enhance cooperation in trade, transportation and transit, pharmacology, standards and insurance, the establishment of joint free zones, technology and innovation, as well as agriculture.
Heading a high-ranking politico-economic delegation, Mirziyoyev arrived in Tehran earlier in the day, the first official visit by an Uzbek president in 20 years,
The presidents of Iran and Uzbekistan held a private meeting. High-ranking delegations of the two countries also discussed ways to bolster bilateral cooperation.
