The leader of Yemen’s resistance movement Ansarullah has underscored the nation’s unwavering support for the Palestinian cause.
Abdul-Malik al-Houthi made the remarks in a Friday meeting with a representative of the Gaza-based Islamic Jihad movement in Yemen, Muhammad Baraka, in Sana'a.
During the meeting, Houthi said the Sana’a-based National Salvation Government will not back down from its principled stance on the Palestinian struggle for freedom.
He commended the heroic resistance put on by the Islamic Jihad and other Palestinian factions in the face of the Israeli onslaught against the besieged Gaza Strip in May. Well over 30 Palestinians, six children and three women included, were killed, according to Palestinian health officials.
The Ansarullah chief also reiterated that the Yemeni nation is prepared to provide all kinds of assistance to the Palestinian people and resistance groups.
For his part, Baraka appreciated the Yemeni nation’s attention to the Palestinian cause and hailed the courageous stance of the Ansarullah leader vis-à-vis the decades-long Palestinian-Israeli conflict.
Ansarullah has long denounced Israel’s crimes against the Palestinian nation. Yemeni people have on occasion staged mass demonstrations in a host of cities in support of Palestinians and in condemnation of the crimes of Israel.
