Russia-Ukraine Dispute

Over the past few weeks, Russia has amassed nearly 100,000 troops on Ukraine’s border. Pentagon suggests Moscow is planning a “false flag” operation in Ukraine as pretext for invasion.

Moscow, however, continues to insist it has no intention to use force against Kiev but demands pledges from the West - including a promise not to conduct NATO military activity in eastern Europe. Russia says its security is threatened by Ukraine's growing ties with the Western alliance and the possibility of NATO missiles being deployed against it on Ukrainian territory.
