In March, the British government announced it would bring in a new law which would bar anyone who arrived in a small boat from claiming asylum and see them deported back to their homeland or a safe third country.
British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has been pushing ahead with the plan regardless of the oppositions; however, hundreds of healthcare professionals have recently expressed their concern that the plan will cause catastrophic mental and physical harm to refugees.
