Iran’s President Ebrahim Raeisi has warned that normalization of Israel’s relations with certain countries in the region will never contribute to the security of the Tel Aviv regime as it is on the verge of collapse.
"The normalization of relations with regional governments has never brought, and will not bring, security to the Zionist regime (Israel)," Raeisi said on the sidelines of International Quds Day demonstrations in Tehran on Friday.
Four Arab countries – the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Sudan and Morocco – agreed to normalize relations with Israel under US-brokered agreements in 2020, under then-President Donald Trump. Spearheaded by the UAE, the move has sparked widespread condemnations from the Palestinians as well as nations and human rights advocates across the world, largely within the Muslim world.
Palestinians censured the deals as a treacherous “stab in the back” and a betrayal of their cause against the decades-long Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories.
Palestinians are seeking an independent state in the occupied West Bank and the besieged Gaza Strip with East al-Quds as its capital.
Elsewhere in his remarks, the Iranian president said International Quds Day demonstrations symbolize solidarity and coherence among Muslim nations.
Raeisi said signs of the collapse of Israel are showing. The massive turnout in the demonstrations, he said, shows that the liberation of al-Quds will take place in the near future. He said International Quds Day demonstrations and similar gatherings throughout the Muslim world prove to the peoples of Palestine, Lebanon and the fighters of the resistance movement that “they are not alone and that all support them.”
Millions of people on Friday attended Quds Day demonstrations across Iran and other Muslim countries to show solidarity with the oppressed Palestinian people and condemn Israeli atrocities.
Every year on the last Friday of Ramadan, worldwide demonstrations are held to support the Palestinian people’s resistance against Israel and the struggle to liberate their territories which have been occupied since 1967.
The annual event is seen as an opportunity for freedom-seeking people across the world, regardless of faith, to voice their support for the Palestinian cause.
International Quds Day is among the legacies of the late founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Imam Khomeini, who is revered as a spiritual leader by Muslims across the world. Back in 1979, shortly after leading an Islamic Revolution which toppled the US-backed Shah of Iran, Ayatollah Khomeini named the last Friday of the fasting month of Ramadan the Quds Day.
President Raeisi: Iran will always support Palestine
Meanwhile, in a video message issued on the occasion, President Raeisi said Iran has always been, and will continue to be, the protector of the oppressed, including the oppressed people of occupied Palestine.
“Our great Imam declared the issue of Palestine and the liberation of al-Quds as the biggest and most central issue of the Islamic world, so that the attention of the entire world is drawn to the holy Quds, the oppression of the Palestinian people, and the oppression and arrogance of the Zionist regime and its supporters in the world,” he said.
He reiterated that the position of the Islamic Republic of Iran has not changed throughout the years, saying, “Today, Imam Khamenei considers the issue of Palestine to be the most important issue of the Islamic world and believes that the issue of resistance is our issue today, and we should strengthen the resistance front.”
“Let everyone know that we have no doubts in supporting the resistance front. The Islamic Republic is determined to support the resistance front,” he asserted.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Raeisi argued that in the new world that is being established in the world, the resistance front is being strengthened while its enemies are on the decline.
“Anyone who sees the conditions and situation of America today and compares it with the past will definitely see the signs of the decline of Americans and their power both in the region and globally,” he noted.
The indicators, the president went on, clearly show that the conditions and situation of the Zionist Regime are worse than ever.
