It is a night about which Quran says is better than a thousand months. Iranians have marked Laylatul Qadr or the Night of Destiny in the holy month of Ramadan.

The Night of Destiny is an extremely important night for Muslims. The Holy Quran says angels descend to earth from heaven on this night to carry out divine commands.

Since this is a special occasion, many Muslims spend the night holding vigils until dawn and reciting the Quran as well as a variety of supplications pleading for God’s forgiveness and blessings.

This night holds special significance to Muslims since they believe on this night God’s blessings and mercy are abundant and their sins are forgiven.

The night’s holiness is believed to make it a very good time for prayers to be answered. In the eyes of Muslims, the Night of Destiny is considered the holiest night of the year.

According to traditions, praying during this night has rewards much more than praying for the entire life. The holy month of Ramadan reaches its peak during the nights of destiny. Muslims make the best use of these nights, praying for forgiveness and yearning for spiritual uplift.
