Meanwhile, world leaders, groups and human rights advocates from across the globe have expressed outrage after the Tel Aviv forces' recent atrocities at al-Aqsa mosque.
Israeli forces raided the al-Aqsa mosque compound repeatedly, firing stun grenades and rubber bullets at Palestinian worshipers gathered during the Muslims’ holy fasting month of Ramadan.
The UN chief condemned the violence, expressing shock and disgust over the Israeli forces' violent actions.
I am “shocked and appalled” by images of Israeli forces beating people at al-Aqsa mosque, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said.
The Israeli regime's brutal attacks sparked clashes in Qalandiya and Shuafat refugee camps in the occupied West Bank.
World leaders warned that the Israeli regime’s attacks against Palestinian worshipers observing the holy month of Ramadan at the al-Aqsa mosque could further escalate bilateral tensions.
The Israeli forces' attacks risked “igniting a spiral of violence that threatens security and stability in the region and the world, “the Arab League warned in a statement condemning the attacks.
Meanwhile, the Bureau of the United Nation General Assembly’s Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People slammed the Israeli regime for the raids on Palestinian worshiper inside al-Aqsa mosque, calling on the Tel Aviv regime to put an end to its forces’ illegal actions.
“Israel’s illegal policies and practices have continued to entrench its illegal occupation of the Palestinian territory it has occupied since 1967,” the bureau said in its statement.
The US body called for accountability of Israel’s violations in the occupied Palestinian territory and urged Israel to comply with its international legal obligations under UN resolutions.
It said, “The bureau calls for respect the freedom of all worshipers to access the religious sites in accordance with established parameters.”
Israeli forces on Wednesday night brutally assaulted dozens of Palestinian worshipers inside al-Aqsa and forced them to leave the site, where they were peacefully observing the holy month of Ramadan.
The Tel Aviv regime forces fired stun grenades and rubber bullets at Palestinian worshipers in an attempt to evacuate them. According to the Palestinian Red Crescent, at least six people were injured in the fresh flare-up.
The Israeli forces had just hours earlier attacked the compound, beating the Palestinian worshipers there before arresting and forcing out more than 350 of them. Dozens of Palestinians were wounded as a result of the Israeli troops’ acts of violence.
Restrictions have been imposed on the entry of Palestinians to the al-Aqsa mosque’s courtyards since early dawn on Thursday, preventing worshipers under the age of 40 from entering and praying in the compound.
