This week we shall take a glance at how Islam impacted on the culture and arts of some of the Eastern and Western parts of the continent. Any discussion on Islam in Africa brings to mind a major historical fact.
The first journey in the history of Islam was the migration of Muslims to Abyssinia in Eastern Africa and the present-day Ethiopia. During the advent of Islam, the polytheists persecuted the Muslims, those who proclaimed belief in one God and Gods messenger, the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him and his Progeny).
