Iranians have observed the National Tree Planting Day as part of the Natural Resources Week by planting saplings across the country. The country has now launched a wider campaign to plant one billion trees in four years.

Accordingly, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei marked the National Tree Planting Day by planting three saplings.

Meanwhile, President Ebrahim Raeisi went to the National Botanical Garden of Iran in Tehran to mark the event and start a campaign to plant one billion trees nationwide.

The Natural Resources Week represents more than just planting trees; it is a strong message of protecting the environment and changing attitudes and lifestyles. Each tree means a gift from the current generation to posterity to have a green and healthy planet.

National Tree Planting Day is annually celebrated on the fifteenth day of Esfand, the last month on the Iranian calendar. The day also marks the beginning of the National Week of Natural Resources.

Iranians have always paid special attention to nature. They believe planting saplings will make the world a better place to live in for us, our children and the generations to come.
