The streets of the Yemeni capital were poured with a huge number of Yemeni protesters who came out to express support for Yemen's late President Saleh al-Sammad.
Al-sammad was assassinated by the Saudi-led coalition back in 2017. He is hailed here as Yemen's martyred president.
Protesters also expressed solidarity with Palestinians who are suffering from Israeli attacks and crackdowns. Yemen's main cause is the Palestinian cause, according to government officials who addressed the crowd at the rally.
The latest protest in Sana'a comes in the midst of ongoing political efforts by the UN special envoy to Yemen to reach a deal between the Yemeni government and the Saudi-led coalition to end the conflict. Even if the war comes to an end, the Ansarullah-backed Yemeni government will continue to face many challenges from world powers giving its unequivocal support for Palestine.
Despite eight years of war and a strangling blockade that have driven Yemen into becoming the world’s worst humanitarian crisis, tens of thousands of Yemenis remain defiant in coming out to show support for the Palestinians who are under occupation by the Israeli regime.
