A night of fun and music with exceptional performance of St. Petersburg ensemble followed by classical pieces by Tehran’s symphonic orchestra.
This is how the 38th edition of the Fajr International Music Festival wrapped up a week of orchestral, traditional and pop performances.
Aside from the outstanding performances the event did not fail to celebrate the best of the best with the prestigious Barbad prize awarded in four different sections this time also awarded to Iranian folk music.
This year over two thousand Iranian and foreign musicians including 30 music bands, gathered in the capital to present their latest musical compositions in seven concert halls in Tehran and several other cities in over a dozen provinces.
“Fajr”, which means “Dawn” in Farsi, refers to a ten-day period that led to the victory of the Islamic revolution. This has been the reason to hold cultural events including a theater, a film and a music festival going by the same name every year, and this is the final part of that trio, leaving the audience at awe with its unique performances until next year, when another edition of the Fajr theater, film and music festivals will once again bring artists and enthusiasts together in the Iranian capital.
