Peace in Ukraine remains elusive, at least for the time being. First, the unending Western-supply of arms continues, led by the US. Second, even a temporary truce announced by Russia for Orthodox Christmas for a little over 36 hours was rejected by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky out-right, practically within minutes.
Meanwhile, the death toll mounts, economies suffer, world food supply remains in a fragile state, and the threat of a nuclear war remains a strong possibility.
