Iran’s parliament speaker: Gen. Soleimani brought power, dignity to Muslim world

The speaker of Iran’s parliament has lauded the personality and endeavors of top Iranian anti-terror commander Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani, who was assassinated in a US drone strike near Baghdad airport three years ago, stating that he brought self-reliance and dignity to the Muslim world.

Speaking at the first international conference on Martyr Soleimani’s School of Thought in the Iranian capital city of Tehran on Wednesday, Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf said the late legendary commander helped Muslims regain self-respect, and would stand up against the United States anytime it sought to exert dominance over Muslim nations.

“Martyr Soleimani involved people to restore security for all walks of life, and reclaimed the Muslim world’s identity,” Qalibaf added, stressing that he well knew how to adeptly deal with arrogant powers as he used unique techniques and own special methods.

The top Iranian legislator noted, “He believed that any drawback in the face of the criminal United States and the Zionist regime, under the false illusion that they might give up on us, would be a fairly gross miscalculation. Oppression and injustice are in their nature, and we will continue to fight oppressors and defend the oppressed.”

Iran’s Raeisi: Revenge for assassination of General Soleimani ‘definitive’

Iranian Pesident Ebrahim Raeisi has warned that revenge for the assassination of late commander General Qassem Soleimani is “definitive.”

Qalibaf went on to note that Lt. Gen. Soleimani strongly believed that the depths of the Muslim world had to be expanded at various facets, and scrupulous attention needed to be paid to the social depth of Muslim nations. 

The Iranian parliament speaker said the late Iranian anti-terror commander emerged as a towering personality despite being born and brought up in a remote region.

He described Lt. Gen. Soleimani as one the most influential figures in the West Asia region, who fought against terrorism and imperialism throughout his life.

Qalibaf also pointed to the Israeli regime’s attempts to normalize diplomatic relations with Muslim countries, stating that smart and innovative initiatives must be undertaken to thwart the trend and make it not sensible and reasonable.

Top Hezbollah official: Gen. Soleimani was manifestation of divine path

A senior official of the Lebanese Hezbollah resistance movement also told the event that arrogant powers sought to change the geography of the region in order to serve their best interests.

Hezbollah Deputy Secretary General Sheikh Naim Qassem said the late founder of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini changed long-established equations in the region and the world, and that Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei is following his path in the fight against global arrogance.

Gen. Soleimani was 'high-value target' because of his fight against terrorism: Analyst

General Qassem Soleimani, an epitome of the global fight against terrorism, was deemed a “high-value target” by the United States, says a political analyst from India, referring to the West as “producers of terrorism”.

“Jihad does not simply mean taking up arms and countering the enemy. It also stands for remaining faithful and observing Islamic values. We will continue to fight arrogant powers on the path of jihad, and the Axis of Resistance will surely pull off more victories in the future,” Sheikh Qassem highlighted.

He said Lebanon, thanks to Hezbollah, has achieved its goals in the maritime dispute case with the Israeli regime and could earlier liberate its occupied lands.

Hezbollah resistance fighters pursue the same goal as that of their Palestinian brethren, Sheikh Qassem said.

The Hezbollah official also said that Gen. Soleimani was not merely a military commander; but a political and strategic leader. 

General Soleimani, commander of the Quds Force of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, the second-in-command of Iraq’s Popular Mobilization Units (PMU), and their companions were assassinated in a US drone strike authorized by Trump near Baghdad International Airport on January 3, 2020.

Iranians across country pay tribute to General Soleimani on third anniversary of US assassination

Iranians converge on the southeastern Iranian city of Kerman to pay their tribute to the late anti-terror commander General Soleimani.

Two days after the attack, Iraqi lawmakers approved a bill that required the government to end the presence of all foreign military forces led by the US in the country.

Both commanders were highly revered across the Middle East because of their key role in fighting the Daesh Takfiri terrorist group in the region, particularly in Iraq and Syria.

On January 8, 2020, the IRGC targeted the US-run Ain al-Asad base in Iraq’s western province of Anbar with a wave of missile attacks in retaliation for the assassination of Gen. Soleimani.

Iran judiciary says 94 Americans accused in Martyr Soleimani’s assassination case

Iran’s top human rights official says 94 Americans are accused of involvement in the case of General Soleimani’s assassination.

According to the Pentagon, more than 100 American forces suffered “traumatic brain injuries” during the counterstrike on the base. The IRGC, however, says Washington uses the term to mask the number of the Americans who perished during the retaliation.

Iran has described the missile attack on Ain al-Assad as a “first slap”.
