Foreign-instigated riots in Iran are part of a “synchronized, very well-orchestrated, pre-planned” effort directed by the Anglo-Zionist alliance, a political commentator has said.
Syed Mohsin Abbas shed light on the “obvious, direct Anglo-Zionist involvement” in recent nationwide riots in an interview with Press TV on Monday, a day after the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) announced it had arrested seven ringleaders of a UK-linked criminal network for involvement in the unrest.
Riots erupted in Iran in mid-September when 22-year-old woman Mahsa Amini died in a hospital in Tehran, three days after she collapsed at a police station. An investigation has attributed Amini’s death to her pre-existing medical condition, rather than alleged beatings by the police.
Abbas also cited the US State Department and US President Joe Biden’s office as saying they were in full support of violent riots in Iran.
“And indeed, they have been supporting [the rioters] through media outlets that they have had and it has been absolute de rigueur over the last two to three months; it has been a coordinated effort,” he added.
Abbas described the riots as a part of a “very well-orchestrated, pre-planned” effort, which did not happen spontaneously, but rather in a “synchronized way.”
He also slammed the UK, which he said has “huge state ownership in all kinds of spying, the gathering of information, and color revolution preparation for a very long time in Iran.” This is not likely to change anytime soon, he said.
Innumerable entities involved in Iran riots
“Iran is absolutely surrounded by all kinds of operatives that are ready to carry out any kinds of disturbance, murders, assassinations, and insurrections, they have got a horrible, multibillion-dollar industry,” he said.
An innumerable number of entities are involved in riots in Iran, he said, adding, “I do not think you could stop counting them: think tanks, media agencies, intelligence services across the Anglo-Zionist Empire and across Europe, NGOs, the neighboring countries which harbor various agents, agencies and insurrectionists in [Iraqi] Kurdistan, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Azerbaijan.”
Therefore, he continued, this is an ongoing war in which Iran is fighting back very well.
Why Iran is being targeted?
Zafar Bangash, director of the Institute of Contemporary Islamic Thought, also told Press TV that the US and its allies are targeting Iran because the Islamic Republic wishes to maintain an independent policy and to pursue its own principles, rather than following the demands of the Western regimes.
“They want the Islamic Republic of Iran not to oppose the Zionist regime, support liberation, pursue its peaceful nuclear program, or get closer to countries that the US and its allies consider as their enemies,” said added.
He, too, criticized the Western corporate media for “constantly bombarding” people with propaganda against Tehran, so that they hold Iran guilty of the recent riots.
“People’s memory span is very short, so they can be bombarded with all kinds of negative information and moved in a particular direction that these intelligence agencies and Western regimes want,” he lamented.
Since the outbreak of riots in Iran, UK-based Persian-language media outlets including Iran International, BBC Persian, and Manoto, have been aggressively fanning propaganda and misinformation about Iran.
Although police categorically stated that Amini’s death was due to natural causes, which was even attested by the forensic report, those UK-based Persian-language media outlets have left no stone unturned in distorting the truth.
Protests triggered by Amini’s death were initially peaceful but degenerated shortly into deadly riots, with involved numerous deadly attacks on police, false-flag killings of civilians, acts of vandalism, and desecration of sanctities.
