In group H, Bruno Fernandes was on the score-sheet twice as Portugal downed Uruguay 2-0 to reach the World Cup last 16.
The Manchester United mid-fielder scored a cross-cum-shot nine minutes into the second half. Then, Iranian referee Alireza Faghani awarded an injury-time spot-kick after a VAR check.
Fernandes sent the keeper the wrong way after his signature move to bag a brace and seal the win for his side.
With Portugal already through, Uruguay must now beat Ghana in their final group match to stand any chance of also progressing.
